AFC Tickton – FAQ’s

We understand that you may have questions about joining us at AFC Tickton so we’ve put together a selection of “Frequently Asked Questions” that may help you move forward with us.

Q – Do your clubs offer spaces to people that have never played football before?

A – Yes, many of our players are first timers with little knowledge of football, with the help of our FA and UEFA licensed coaches, we will be able to develop and help them in their football knowledge and more importantly find a sport they love to partake in.

Q – Is there a training only basis available for my child to see if they will enjoy playing football?

A – Yes, simply speak to one of our coaches or club representatives and we will be able to point you in the right direction for the appropriate age group, this will depend on current player numbers however, some teams may not be able to cater due to a large volume of players already within the team but we will help you find an alternative if this is the case.

Q – Do you offer a female only football team?

A – Yes, we have various teams of different age groups that are part of the East Riding Girls Football League, just speak to one of our club representatives and we will be able to assist, most of our girls teams play on Beverley Leisure Centre.

Q – How do I get my child started with a team in Tickton?

A – You will need to contact the club via Website or our Facebook page and we will point you to the appropriate age group manager of a club, we typically tend to take on players during pre-season (March-August) but there is the option to join a team mid-season on the basis that your child has never played elsewhere.

Q – Where do I get my child’s Tickton kit from?

A – We use TMX clothing supplies in Beverley who provide us with match kits, you will need to speak to your club manager to have it ordered with the appropriate embroidery and kit number, do bear in mind that match kits are payable, please contact your club manager for more information.

This is the FA Introduction to Coaching Football, further to this, all of our coaches are qualified in Safeguarding, First Aid in Football and Match Control.
